The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant

What happens when we refuse to extend the mercy and grace we received from God to others? The answer is not good. This week’s episode we discuss the Parable of the Unmerciful Servant and why Jesus uses it to reveal what happens when we refuse to extend mercy to others.

What is a Parable?

This week, we dive into our next series exploring the parables of Jesus. We couldn’t start our series on the parables without exploring what a parable means, so this first episode addresses what is a parable, why Jesus used them to teach and how we can understand the deeper truths Jesus is trying to communicate.

We’ll be exploring various parables throughout this series. We are excited to share our perspective on the parables and what they mean to us today.

Here are the categories of the parables we mention in the video:

Kingdom Parables
Sinner Parables
Forgiveness Parables
Prayer Parables
Stewardship Parables
Service Parables
Preparedness Parables

Thanks for joining us for this week’s episode of Thursday’s Theology. Join us next week as we explore the Parable of the Wineskin.

What is Grace?

What is grace? What does it mean to live by the grace of God? What does it do to our sin?

In this week’s episode, we cover the idea of grace and what it means for our sin. Ultimately, grace is something that we experience. Any words we come up with to describe it will fail to capture the true essence of grace. As always, the concept of grace can not be boiled down in one episode, but we will highlight the story of the Woman Caught in Adultery to try and understand what grace looks like.

What is Sin?

What is sin? Is it a list of things that we can’t do? Is it things that bring us shame? Or is it more than that?

This week’s episode is dedicated to answering the question “what is sin?” We explore how sin, at its core, gets in the way of our relationship with God. Sin and God cannot coexist in the same space.

Sorry that this week’s episode is late, but the upload on Thursday didn’t go through, so we are a little late, but nevertheless, enjoy this week’s episode!

Thursday’s Theology – Part IV

What’s up theology nerds!

Good Thursday to you all. A new Thursday means a new episode of Thursday’s Theology is up and running!

This week we are focusing specifically on Luke 18 and Jesus’ parable of the Tax Collector and the Pharisee. We are going to be discussing how Jesus uses two extreme examples, one righteous and one unrighteous, to prove a point about the hypocrisy of prayer.

In essence, prayer is meant to be a personal conversation with you and God, not done in public for your own self gratifications.

Check out this week’s episode to hear more!
