What is Communion?

Is Communion simply eating bread and drinking wine? Or does it means something more? This week’s episode is dedicated to exploring the question “what is Communion?”

Join us as we break down the act of communion and why it is important as a practice of the church.

This episode revolves around three major points about communion;

Communion is symbolic
Communion is leveling
Communion is sacred

We’ll be looking at not only the Last Supper in Matthew 26, but also Paul’s instruction to the church in Corinth (1 Corinthians 11). Join us as we dive deeper into the meaning of communion!

Thursday’s Theology – Prayer Part V

Welcome to our 5th episode on prayer!

This week we talk about how theology is like watching a movie. Hearing from different people and their perspectives helps broaden our understanding of theology. There is beauty in the diversity of theological opinions.

Then we dive into how to be angry with God in our prayers. It is not taboo or forbidden, but an expression of our relationship with God. Anger is a natural part of any relationship, including our relationship with God. God desires us to be in full relationship, meaning the entire pantheon of emotion.

**By the way, I misspoke in the video, Habakkuk’s prophecy is right before the Babylonian exile, not the Assyrian.**

Let us know what you think!

Thursday’s Theology – Part IV

What’s up theology nerds!

Good Thursday to you all. A new Thursday means a new episode of Thursday’s Theology is up and running!

This week we are focusing specifically on Luke 18 and Jesus’ parable of the Tax Collector and the Pharisee. We are going to be discussing how Jesus uses two extreme examples, one righteous and one unrighteous, to prove a point about the hypocrisy of prayer.

In essence, prayer is meant to be a personal conversation with you and God, not done in public for your own self gratifications.

Check out this week’s episode to hear more!
And remember, theology doesn’t have to be complicated, it is simply the study of who God is.
