What is Communion?

Is Communion simply eating bread and drinking wine? Or does it means something more? This week’s episode is dedicated to exploring the question “what is Communion?”

Join us as we break down the act of communion and why it is important as a practice of the church.

This episode revolves around three major points about communion;

Communion is symbolic
Communion is leveling
Communion is sacred

We’ll be looking at not only the Last Supper in Matthew 26, but also Paul’s instruction to the church in Corinth (1 Corinthians 11). Join us as we dive deeper into the meaning of communion!

What is the church?

Is the church simply a building that you go to?

Is it just a gathering of believers in one place?

Does going to a coffeeshop or listening to a sermon online count as church?

What is the church? This week on Thursday’s Theology, we discuss what the church is and reveal some things that we think about how the church functions.

Obscure Bible Verse of the Week

Are Prayers Really Answered?

God answers prayers. But Sometimes it is in the way we need them answered and not in the way we want them answered. It can be frustrating, but ultimately it is God providing what we need.

This episode is dedicated to talking about how God called me into ministry and how it was an answer to my prayers in the way I needed and not wanted. If you ask something of God through your prayers, sometimes it means you’ll end up in places you didn’t expect.

In Response to Parkland

In light of what happened in Parkland, Florida, this week’s episode of Thursday’s Theology is dedicated to sharing some of my thoughts on the issue of mass shootings and gun control.

I know that people are going to disagree with me. That’s okay. But I couldn’t stay silent on the issue. Student ministry is my life and I needed to say something about High School students losing their lives to needless violence.

If you disagree with me, that’s fine. Share your thoughts with me, push back on my opinion. Just be civil about it. My desire is to dialogue and not argue.
